Date and Venue: Thursday 7 November 2024 @ University of Warwick
In November 2024, we organised a ‘hot topic’ roundtable on “Teaching Feminist Translation” at the annual conference of the Association of Programmes in Translating and Interpreting Studies, UK and Ireland (APTIS).

We wanted to initiate a discussion about the place of feminist translation on the twenty-first-century university curriculum. We hoped to share experiences with tutors at different universities about how feminist translation is currently taught on undergraduate and postgraduate translation programmes in the UK, with a focus explicitly on teaching feminist translation as a practical exercise rather than on feminist theory or feminist translation theory.
Hilary Brown and Olga Castro gave short accounts of their teaching experiences at the Universities of Birmingham and Warwick respectively, and the ensuing discussion was chaired by Gabriela Saldanha.
